New Tile Roof Installation in Phoenix
A new tile roof installation is one of the best long-term investments a Phoenix homeowner can make, and it is a job we have been doing since 1999. Whether you are building new or converting from shingles, we install complete clay and concrete tile systems: premium double-layered underlayment, battens, flashing, and ventilation, then the tile itself. The tile is the part you see, but the layers under it are what decide how the roof performs through twenty-plus monsoon seasons. We build the whole system right the first time.

Tile Options for Phoenix Homes
We install a range of tile materials to fit your architecture and budget.
- Clay tile: the traditional terracotta look, with generational longevity.
- Concrete tile: more budget-friendly, in a wide range of profiles and colors.
- Stone-coated steel: the tile look in a lighter, more impact-resistant panel.
- Composite and synthetic tile: engineered to replicate natural tile at a lighter weight.
Built for Heat and Monsoons
Tile reflects and sheds heat that bakes other roofing materials, helping regulate indoor temperatures during triple-digit summers. It carries a Class A fire rating and, installed correctly, stands up to monsoon wind and wind-driven rain. A properly installed tile roof in Arizona is a decades-long asset, and correct installation is exactly what decides that.
The Underlayment Standard We Install To
We use double-layered, high-performance underlayment rated for Arizona heat, then set a batten system above it so the underlayment can dry properly if water ever gets under the tile. It is a detail plenty of installers skip and one of the main reasons our roofs last.
How it works
New Tile Install: what to expect
- Step 1
Design and material selection
Choose clay or concrete tile in the color, finish, and profile that fits your home, with honest guidance on trade-offs.
- Step 2
Tear-off and preparation
For conversions, we remove the old roofing and inspect the decking for integrity before anything new goes on.
- Step 3
Underlayment and battens
Double-layered high-performance underlayment protects the deck; the batten system above it lets the assembly breathe and drain.
- Step 4
Tile installation
Each tile is set to manufacturer specifications and local code, with correct spacing, fastening, and flashing.
- Step 5
Cleanup and final inspection
We leave the property spotless and do a full walkthrough with you before closing out the job.
FAQ
New Tile Install FAQs
How long does a tile roof installation take?
Most residential tile installations take five to ten days, depending on roof size and complexity.
Will my home need structural reinforcement for tile?
We assess your roof structure during the free estimate. If the framing needs help, we will include lightweight tile options or a reinforcement plan in the proposal.
Is tile more expensive than shingles?
Tile has a higher upfront cost but lasts far longer and insulates better, which makes it the stronger long-term value for most Phoenix homes. We will price both options if you want the comparison.
Can tile be installed on a flat or low-slope roof?
Tile needs a minimum slope for proper drainage, usually 2.5:12 or greater. Flat and very low-slope roofs are better suited to foam roofing, which we also install.
